Vacation is good

I'm taking another vacation for Labor Day. This year has been the year of vacations it seems, well sort of. This is the first time I'll have back-to-back semesters without class since we moved across state. So, that has a little something to do with it. We'll be visiting the group in Jersey, as usual.

My plans to transplant them all to Virginia (or at least closer) has so far been unsuccessful. Although I still have hope, it may prove more and more difficult as time passes. If I had money I would consider bribery, but alas I am not able to use that tactic. I have been able to get them here for extended visits by enticing them with Southern Food and Hospitality, but I've not been able to convince them to stay. Perhaps I should try chains next time, or cages. I should be careful not to reveal too much or they may employ the same tactics on me. My aversion to Jersey is strong enough that I would probably gnaw my own leg off to escape though. Luckily our car is an automatic transmission and I can drive with only one leg.

Mike and Joyce are set to have their first child. Congrats to them. I know they have been trying for some time to grow Homer’s army. I know Homer’s hoping for a strong bear cub to lead the troops into battle. I’ve already provided a good messenger – small and agile. Homer is hoping for more solid ground troops from the Clan of the Polar Bear. I believe Rich will be providing the Elite Storm Trooper squadron at some point as well. Homer has to work on providing the heir apparent though (hint hint).
