I got a package earlier this week and Salve informed me another one came today. I love getting stuff. The first one is a 4GB microSD card to try out in the new cell phone. I got a great deal on the card through Buy.com using Google Checkout -- $13 with free shipping. I couldn’t pass it up at that price. It has an adapter for full size SD, so I can use it in the camera or GPS if I don't like it in the phone. I’ve loaded up about 500MB of music and tried it out. It works pretty well, except that the vendor software tries to convert some MP3 files and fails (therefore doesn’t copy them to the phone). I tried copying one of the same MP3 files to the card directly with Windows Explorer and that worked. The phone recognized the file and played it fine. I don’t know what the proprietary software’s problem is. I’ll copy the files directly to the card from now on to avoid that issue.
The second package is my Oakley's (I think). I had to send them in for repair (under warranty). I had to pay to ship them to Oakley, but no other cost. Considering I got them at about 1/3 normal price, I don’t mind sending them in for one minor repair. My first experience with Oakley wasn’t as good. I loved the glasses and the lenses were awesome, but the frames broke three times in an 18 month period. I got tired of sending those things in for repair and threw them in a drawer somewhere, disgusted. I couldn’t believe I paid that much for a pair of sunglasses I got to use for only about one year. The ones I have now don’t have that flimsy plastic material for the frame. They are sturdy and have the same great lenses. They also fit my face nicely and don’t fall off with activity. I love the way these glasses look too. If these are plagued by defects like the last ones though, I’ll never buy an Oakley product again.
