Things took a dramatic and unexpected turn. I began what I thought would be the final assault on the Pelitar Empire. Apparently, however, my hostilities upset many of the other races. I reduced the Pelitar to one remaining world, but had to stop short of erasing them from history to protect my new planetary holdings. Maybe the events are coincidental, but I went down to one ally and one neutral counterpart as a result of the campaign.

Some of the other races (like the Rosidon and the Borbek) banded together against me. The most annoying of the races that turned on me has to be the Isdar. They populated the most planets and have the largest number of ships. For some reason, they hovered just outside my home systems for a long time. They were the most aggressive at times, sending two fleets at me back-to-back. They hold a couple key planets that I’ll need to relinquish from their possession as soon as I have the ability. Once I take control of those worlds, and a few others, I will have a complete stranglehold on the center of the Universe. I will control who can come and go between the Northern and the Southern expanses.

The funny thing is that for a while my fleet was so strong it didn’t matter that everyone turned on me. In fact, right after it happened I destroyed three fleets with between 13 and 19 ships each within about 5 minutes, while only losing one of my 21 ships. However, battling fleet after fleet has taken its toll. My ships were slowly whittled down to less than 10 key vessels. I was forced to crank up production on some new inexpensive ships to supplement my fleet while building additional carriers and battleships to replace those lost. Those weaker destroyer-class ships have all been destroyed in battles, but served their purposes well.

I just renewed my attack against the Pelitar and as a result have rendered them planetless. With only a few ships orbiting his ally’s planet, he will soon be all but a memory, and I will secure my place as the second largest empire in the universe. Ha Ha Ha.
