I still remember the morning IT happened.
Days like today, make me thankful. I'm thankful that I didn't, and don't live near any of THOSE areas. I'm thankful I wasn't visiting one of THOSE areas. I'm thankful that no close friends or relatives were present at THOSE areas when IT happened.
I won't talk about IT, but I will remember.

Why refer to IT as IT. Almost seems sacrilegious to just refer to IT as "IT". To properly Remember IT, maybe you should list excactly what "IT" is.
Why waste space saying what so many others can say much more eloquently than I could ever dream?
